DETAILED Load-in/Parking Information: Please feel free to unload gear directly in front of the building with your flashers on before parking and there is a hand-truck/equipment cart available at the studio if you have heavy amps, etc. There is usually plenty of parking on Willow Street and surrounding streets but beware that there is a 2-hour time limit on weekdays for both.

Metered parking is active M-F 7am to 6:30pm and costs 25 cents per half-hour (I usually have quarters). Non-metered parking has a 2-hour limit Mon-Fri from 7am to 8:30pm unless you have a DC zone 4 parking sticker. Please be prepared to feed a meter or move your car if needed - parking tickets can ruin recording sessions for sure! No time restrictions on weekends and no need to add coins to the meter on weekends.

There is also a paid-lot across the street from A. Salon for which you can pay $5.00 to park the entire day.

Please note that the Washington Opera Company is housed in the same building as the studio and every once in awhile they have rehearsals that may render less parking options in front of the building, in which case you may need to park on an adjacent street or in the paid-lot.

Directions from DC: From NW, take 13th Street north and continue on when it turns into Piney Branch Rd. After you cross over Georgia Avenue, turn right at the 2nd stoplight onto Aspen Street. Pass through 3 stop signs and 1 stoplight (Blair Rd). After the stoplight at Blair, take your 2nd left onto Willow Street. The entrance to A. Salon is halfway up the block on the right, across from and slightly before a tollhouse for the parking lot next to the CVS. As you enter the A. Salon building, walk straight ahead on the first floor, past the main gallery and on to the double doors for suites 104A-D. After normal business hours, please use the callbox at the front of the building to page the studio for entry.

Directions from Takoma Metro station: When you exit the Takoma Station, come straight out of the exit toward the crosswalk. Carroll Ave will be the street on your right. Continue forward, along Carroll Avenue for 2 blocks to the CVS at Carroll and Willow Street. Turn right onto Willow Street, A. Salon is in the 2nd building on the left, the entrance is across from and slightly beyond the tollhouse for the parking lot next to the CVS. As you enter the A. Salon building, walk straight ahead on the first floor, past the main gallery and on to the double doors for suites 104A-D. After normal business hours, please use the callbox at the front of the building to page the studio for entry.

Directions from points north: Take I-95 South to I-495 West (Exit 27 toward Silver Spring). You will not be on I-495 very long, take exit 28B for MD 650 South - New Hampshire Avenue toward Takoma Park. After about a mile and a half merge right onto Piney Branch (slightly before the stoplight). At the next stoplight, turn left onto Carroll Avenue. Stay on Carroll Avenue for 2.2 miles and you will then need to make a right turn at the stoplight for Ethan Allen Boulevard in order to remain on Carroll Avenue. Continue forward on Carroll Avenue through 2 more stoplights. At the 3rd stoplight you'll see Taliano's Restaurant on your left. Go forward through the light (you will now be on Laurel Street). Continue forward through the next stop sign. At the 2nd stop sign turn right onto Aspen Street. Take your next right onto Willow Street. The entrance to A. Salon is halfway up the block on the right, across from and slightly before a tollhouse for the parking lot next to the CVS. As you enter the A. Directions from points south: Take I-95 North toward DC. Merge onto I-395 North by way of exit 170A on the left. Turn right onto New York Avenue NW (US-50). Turn left onto 'O' Street NE. Turn right onto North capitol Street NE, which will soon turn into Blair Road NW. Turn right onto Aspen Street. Take your 2nd left onto Willow Street. The entrance to A. Directions from points east: Take Route 50 West to I-495 North (Exit 7B). Merge onto exit 28B for MD 650 South - New Hampshire Avenue toward Takoma Park. Directions from points west: Take I-66 East to I-495 North. Merge onto Exit 31B - MD 97 Georgia Avenue South toward Silver Spring. Stay on Georgia Avenue for approx. 2.5 miles, passing through Silver Spring and many stoplights. Begin to watch street names to your left - turn left onto Aspen Street. Pass through the stoplight at Piney Branch Rd. Continue on through 3 stop signs and one stoplight (Blair Road). Take the 2nd left after the light onto Willow Street. The entrance to A.
